Remember, we are not separate from nature, we are of nature, and we cannot be truly healthy if we isolate ourselves from the outside world. I believe it is important to, at the very least, get outside everyday in order to reap the benefits that the Earth provides to us. The seventh and final daily habit is to connect to nature. The process of acquiring and developing a skill, or multiple skills, is a great way to stay motivated, and is a vital step toward becoming a more capable version of our self. Just moving your body every day is important (that’s why walking is on the list) but I also find that it is important to strive for something physically. The sixth daily habit is to develop a movement practice. As we are creating our new lifestyle and implementing our daily habits, mindfulness is what is going to help us break our old habits and free ourselves of the patterns and programming that no longer serves us. good habits and how important it is to have the right routines in. There are countless benefits to meditating, and just like most of habits on this list, it will help with everything else that you do. Sleep is like a Swiss army knife for our health, but not getting enough can be devastating. Sleep effects every aspect of our well-being, including brain health, hormonal balance, immune function, and our ability to control inflammation and repair damaged cells. The third daily habit is to get 8 hours of good quality sleep every night. By eliminating highly processed, toxic “food” we are also able to eliminate the myriad of health issues that come with it, and enable our bodies to thrive. Real, living things that come from the earth, like we do. Food is more than just fuel, it is information, and when it comes to giving our body the information it needs, there is no substitute for plants and animals. The second habit is to nourish our bodies with real food. Proper nasal breathing is imperative for our health, performance, mental state, longevity and even our facial structure Eat Real Food There is a significant difference in the quality of air and the way our body processes it, between nasal breathing and mouth breathing. When I talk about breathing, I mean specifically, breathing through your nose. With something so important to our health and well-being, shouldn’t we be doing it correctly. We take, on average, over 20,000 breaths per day, and without our ability to breath we would be dead in minutes. The first habit is the most important thing we do.
